Politikpunkt’s editorial policy is overseen by Chefredaktör Martin Krüger and governed by Politikpunkt Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry). We are committed to delivering trustworthy Swedish journalism without spin or oversimplification, ensuring every article meets our standards of accuracy, fairness and independence.
Who is responsible for editorial policy?
Editorial policy at Politikpunkt is set and enforced by Chefredaktör Martin Krüger, who bears ultimate responsibility for editorial standards, publication decisions and corrections. The publication is owned and operated by Politikpunkt Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar. Full details about our ownership and funding are available in our ownership and funding statement.
The editorial team includes Redaktionschef Helena Peters, who manages daily newsroom operations and headline review, and dedicated editors for politics, economics and culture. Each named editor is accountable for their section’s content. A complete list of our editorial staff can be found on the Our Team page.
How do we distinguish between news, opinion, features, sponsored and affiliate content?
Politikpunkt clearly labels every piece of content to ensure readers can distinguish between journalism and commercial material. News articles, opinion pieces, features, sponsored content and affiliate links are each identified by explicit labels, and sponsored or commercial material is clearly marked as such.
Editorial decisions are never influenced by commercial relationships. Sponsored content and affiliate links are both disclosed in accordance with our advertising and affiliate disclosure and our sponsored content policy. Opinion pieces represent the views of the named writer and are clearly separated from news reporting.
What is our editorial process?
Every article published by Politikpunkt is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by a dedicated editor and fact-checked before publication. This three-stage process ensures that claims are verified, sources are attributed and the final text meets our editorial standards. Our fact-checking policy details how we verify information, and our corrections policy explains how errors are handled post-publication.
The editorial team follows a set of internal guidelines that prioritise accuracy, balance and clarity. Breaking news is handled with particular care, and any updates or corrections are appended transparently to the original article. All journalists adhere to the code of conduct set out in our Sources & Standards page.
How do we ensure transparency in every article?
Every article at Politikpunkt includes the name of the writer who drafted it, the editor who reviewed it and, where applicable, the fact-checker. The publication date and any correction notices are shown prominently. This article-level transparency allows readers to assess the provenance of each piece.
We also maintain a public record of corrections and clarifications. Readers can view our Our Team page to see full author profiles and editorial responsibilities. For any further questions about an article, we encourage readers to contact the editorial team via our contact page.
Do we use artificial intelligence in our journalism?
Politikpunkt may use AI-assisted tools to support research, drafting, editing, formatting, translation, metadata creation, headline options, summaries and transcription. However, all published editorial content is reviewed and approved by a human editor. AI is never allowed to fabricate quotes, sources, interviews, bylines, author experience or expert profiles.
Our full approach to automated tools is documented in the AI and automation policy. Any use of AI is disclosed in the article metadata, and readers can always ask about the role of such tools by contacting our newsroom.
How can readers submit a complaint?
If a reader believes that an article contains an error, violates our editorial standards or fails to meet our transparency commitments, they may submit a complaint via our dedicated procedure. We aim to acknowledge all complaints within two working days and resolve them promptly and fairly.
The complaints process is overseen by Chefredaktör Martin Krüger. Full details, including how to escalate unresolved issues, are provided on the complaints procedure page. Readers may also contact us directly at corrections@politikpunkt.de for fact-related concerns.
