Unsere Geschichte

Politikpunkt is an independent Swedish digital news publisher owned and operated by Politikpunkt Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry). The publication was founded in 2024 to close a gap in clear, practical Swedish news coverage for readers who want context without noise.

Who is behind Politikpunkt?

Politikpunkt is led by Chefredaktör Martin Krüger, who is responsible for all editorial standards, publication decisions and corrections. The company is wholly owned by Politikpunkt Media Ltd., a private limited company registered in Gibraltar and listed with the Malta Business Registry, with its registered office at Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000.

The newsroom is organised into five desks, each overseen by a dedicated editor. Helena Peters serves as Redaktionschef, overseeing the daily newsroom, headline review and commissioning. Patrick Beck is Politikredaktör, covering the Riksdag, government and municipal politics. Birgit Krämer is Wirtschaftreporter, focusing on economy, markets and household finance. Paul Schulte is Kultur- och samhällsredaktör, handling culture, lifestyle and society. Nina Wolff is responsible for fact-checking, source verification and corrections. Full biographies for each team member are available on our Our Team page.

Why was Politikpunkt founded?

Politikpunkt was founded to address a lack of accessible, trustworthy Swedish news that provides context without oversimplification or spin. The founders identified a need for journalism that helps readers understand complex issues in Swedish politics, economy, culture and society, both domestically and internationally.

Existing coverage often felt either too brief and sensational or too dense and academic. Politikpunkt aims to occupy the middle ground: clear, practical reporting that explains the background and implications of events without drowning the reader in jargon or ideology. Every article is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by an editor and fact-checked before publication. AI-assisted tools may support research or drafting but never replace human editorial judgement; all published content is reviewed by a human editor.

How do we work?

Every article published on Politikpunkt is written by a named journalist, reviewed by a desk editor and verified by our fact-checking team before it appears. AI tools may assist with research, formatting, translation or headline options, but they never create content independently or fabricate quotes, sources or bylines.

Our editorial philosophy, set by Martin Krüger, emphasises transparency and accountability. We publish a detailed Editorial Policy that outlines our standards for sourcing, corrections and ethical reporting. All sources used in our reporting are disclosed where possible, and we maintain a Sources & Standards page that explains how we verify information. Corrections are handled promptly and clearly, as described in our Corrections Policy.

How is our journalism funded?

Politikpunkt is funded through display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing. All sponsored or commercial material is clearly labelled, and affiliate links are disclosed to readers. Commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions.

We believe that transparent funding is essential to trust. A full breakdown of our ownership structure, funding sources and conflict-of-interest policies is available on our Ownership & Funding page. Any sponsored or advertorial content is explicitly marked to distinguish it from independent journalism.

What can readers expect from us?

Readers can expect clearly bylined articles, transparent sourcing, a formal corrections process and a strict separation between editorial and commercial content. We invite readers to subscribe to our newsletter for regular updates and to send tips and story suggestions directly to our newsroom.

You can sign up for our newsletter on the Newsletter page. If you have a news tip, document or idea you would like to share with our journalists, please use the secure form on the Tip Us page. We treat all submissions confidentially and will verify the information before pursuing any story.
