Every article is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by an editor and fact-checked before publication; the site was founded in 2024 and delivers independent Swedish news in German for readers in Sweden and internationally.
What we rely on day to day
Our journalism is built on primary sources, direct access to official documents, verified data and conversations with named or on-the-record sources. We do not publish speculation or unattributed claims without a clear editorial rationale.
Day-to-day reporting draws on the following pillars:
- Official records and open data: Riksdag proceedings, government press releases, Swedish public authority statistics (SCB, Socialstyrelsen, etc.), EU legislative documents and court rulings. Wherever possible we link to the original document or provide a permanent reference.
- Named sources and expert interviews: Journalists at Politikpunkt.de interview politicians, civil servants, academics, business leaders and civil-society representatives. We require that sources are identified by name and position unless a clear, documented justification for anonymity exists (e.g. whistleblower protection or personal safety). Every anonymous source is approved by the Redaktionschef.
- Verification and fact-checking: Before publication, each article is checked by Nina Wolff, Ansvarig för faktagranskning (emma.sandberg@politikpunkt.de, +46 8 525 030 66). - Editorial review: Every piece is reviewed by a human editor – either Helena Peters, Redaktionschef, or a designated section editor (Patrick Beck, Birgit Krämer, Paul Schulte). No automated tool or AI model is permitted to approve content for publication. - Stated corrections and transparency: If an error is identified post-publication, we issue a correction notice at the top of the article and update the text. We do not rely on press releases alone. Every official statement is treated as a starting point, not a conclusion. Our reporters actively seek out alternative viewpoints, particularly from opposition parties, civil-society groups and independent experts. In economic reporting, we reference central bank data, inflation indices and market reports from recognised institutions such as Riksbanken, Konjunkturinstitutet and Eurostat.

How to challenge our reporting
If you believe an article contains a factual error, a misleading presentation or an omission that distorts the truth, you can submit a challenge directly to our editorial team. We take every complaint seriously and respond within 48 hours.
The process is as follows:

- Provide specific evidence: Include the article URL, the exact claim you challenge and your supporting documentation (e.g. a link to the original source, a screenshot of contradictory data, a quote from an official document). Vague or anonymous complaints without evidence will be acknowledged but may not lead to an investigation.
- Internal review: The relevant section editor will review the complaint together with the fact-checking team. If the error is confirmed, we issue a correction within one business day and append a notice to the article. If the complaint is rejected, we provide a written explanation. Persistent or unresolved disputes may be escalated to Chefredaktör Martin Krüger.
- External recourse: Readers who are not satisfied with the response may refer the matter to the Swedish Press Council (Pressens Opinionsnämnd) or, for matters of data protection, to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten).
